Sean is so perfect and as cute as a button. He doesn’t cry, he squeaks. He won’t open his eyes though, probably still to bright for him. Such a good baby, he is. I loved cuddling with him and I cried the first time I held him.
Sean was born last night at 11:19pm. He weighed 6 pounds 15 oz so a pound smaller then Jordan and 5 oz bigger then Jarrod. Sean is 18 inches which is a inch shorter then Jarrod was. He looks a lot like Bailey and has Jarrod’s little mouth. He puckers up and it is so cute!
Bailey is a wonderful big sister. She had to hold him every chance she got… I can understand that because I feel the same way! I had to laugh though when Bailey was talking with the nurse about something and said “and when you have to put him back in my mommy’s tummy…” I can’t even remember what it was she was talking about because I was laughing so hard. She also was very curious on the cord. I told her that is how he ate when he was in his mommy’s tummy and then when Skye started nursing him, it confused her more. What kind of person eats through their belly button then eats from mommy’s boob!
Bailey is so loveable. She hugs me and says “you’re my grandma huh?” When I say “yes” she hugs me and says “I love you” How can you not melt at such sweetness. She and Emma have a good time together, most of the time. They play together then get mad at each other then play together again. It is normal and a way to learn how to deal with relationships and feelings. To much arguing gets them a nap though.
Jarrod signs adoption papers tomorrow and then it just has to go through court for Bailey to be legally a Gose. It will be nice for their little family to be whole like that.
I do love my little grandkids… all three of them.

Well little Sean, seems you are doing things at your own pace and that is good. Your mommy is in labor with you as we speak and I am so excited and can’t wait to meet you. Now if you wait until tomorrow, I will be there to help greet you into this world… well at the hospital anyway… but don’t wait on my account ok? You are my first grandson and I know we will have loads of fun together over the years. I can’t wait until I can hold you in my arms!
Now when you are older and you read this, you may not get the jest of it, but I have to laugh at your mommy, she is at the hospital and in labor and posting on Face book (a social network). Of course when you get older, you will have so much more cooler things then Face book and My Space. When your daddy was born there wasn’t much out there, no one had home computers or even cordless phones let alone cell phones that you can access the internet with like a computer! Yes, it will seem that he is from the olden, olden days and then you will hear stories of how when I was young we didn’t even have VCR’s or home movies that had sound! Yes, we are all ancient but not as much as my grandparents who grew up not always having indoor plumbing and running water! Time will go fast and you will be crawling and walking and talking in no time, but right now I want to enjoy every moment I can with you and watching you grow into a fine young man. I love you, little Sean, I love you more then you could ever know. Have a safe birth, baby, and I thank God for the gift of you, my first grandson.
Love,
Grandma Shari

September 20, 2009

Bailey had some firsts this weekend. Yesterday Skye, Tracey and I took her to Spearfish and had her portraits done at Picture Me studio in Walmart. They turned out so cute! For the first time in 3 years she has had inside portraits done, and she did wonderful! One the way home she decided she was going to spend the night at my house. I wasn't sure she would after it was all said and done, but we had no problems what so ever. Jarrod stopped by before heading home to check on her and she wasn't going to get close to him thinking he was going to take her with him. Once she realized she still got to stay, she gave him hugs and said night to him. She slept very well and didn't get homesick at all. I am so proud of her!

Last night we went for a walk and went to Teri's, a friend of mine. A vehicle went speeding past the house and a couple minutes later a cop went by. We said "where was that cop a couple minutes ago when the guy was speeding by?" Bailey preceded to tell us about a cop chasing Grandma Tracey for going to fast on the fast road. We got a kick out of her telling us that story and when I asked Jarrod, he said that she was speeding but didn't get a ticket a while back. What kids remember and then innocently embarrass you with is always so much fun!

This morning we went to get Emma and then went to Sunday school. We had a good time but I wasn't about to try to keep them still and quiet during church so we came home to give them a chance to play. Play they did and what I had done with cleaning the playroom become absolute so I asked them to pick up the toys they weren't playing with. They ignored me so I told them to pick them up before going outside and if they didn't, I would lock the playroom door. With this threat, the differences in the girls came out. Bailey informed me she was ready to go see her mom now and I told her ok, I would call her mom AFTER the toys were picked up. She knew she was had and went to picking up the toys. Emma knows what happens when I say I am going to lock up her toys after going months without her favorite wooden birthday cake so she just informed me "When you be nice about it, I will pick up toys!" Wonder where she gets that little phrase... I pointed out that I was being nice, but they were being the mean ones for not picking up after I worked hard already to clean it. With this she started cleaning up also. Those are two very special girls and I wouldn't trade either for anything.

When Skye came to pick up Bailey, she didn't want to go home. I am sure it was because Emma was here and they were having fun playing together for most part... until they wanted the same toy!

Well, Bailey, I am now your grandma too. It will be so fun having another granddaughter and look forward to getting to know you better.
Bailey is a sweet three year old who is very insistent on getting things her way. I giggle when she shows this stubborn side. Her great grandmother has it right when she calls her "The Prairie Princess". When we went up to the Big Horns for the wedding, She proudly let us know how she shot a rockchuck with her "pink boom boom". At the same time she loved being all dressed up in her flower girl dress and refused to take it off even when it got really chilly out. I mentioned her changing and she let me know in no uncertain terms that she wasn't going to and then she stayed clear for a bit afterwards.

Saturday night she was going to spend the night in the camper with Emma and us. She was so happy, brushed her teeth and got all ready for bed. I pulled out the couch and started putting the blankets on it and she puckered up and started crying for her mommy. Poor little thing. I walked her back to the cabin and she was asleep before I got back out the door.
Welcome to the family little one, I am looking forward to being your grandma.
